Adventure Rooms – The Vault
Adventure Rooms Canada is located in a old building right near some railway tracks in Kitchener. It was our final room of the day for our Kitchener / Waterloo trip with the other Divas Errol, Manda and our special guest. Again the GM handed us the rules to read over, and then we were off.
Creativity and Design (aka its Fancy level): – Was it inventive ? Did it fit the theme?

Like the other rooms, the vault did not have a theme. The funny thing is the room contains a vault (an impressive one at that), with some interesting props and great set design. Although without a story its hard to tie it in with anything. We felt as if it played like a “Heist” but in reverse.
Bells and Whistles: Was it just lockboxes throughout the Room?

The Vault combines some traditional forms of tech and others that play well with the set design. it would have been nice if there were more components considering the size of the room, however we didn’t have any issues with the tech itself.
Intuitive (aka Frustration Level): Was it solvable? or Did you have to be inside the creators mind to solve it?

The Vault was for the most part straight forward. We were able to make it through the room without any hints until the final bit, which required a hint.
Staff Support/Price : Were they friendly? Were they helpful? What was the Damage?
The Gamemasters were friendly, but definitely had some odd practices (like making us read out own rules). This time however we asked not to go through them again.
The price scales differently depending on how many people you bring. For example $23 for 2 players, $21 for 3-5 players and $20 for 6 and more (plus tax).
Overall: The Vault was probably the highlight of our Kitchener/Waterloo escape trip. We feel that if there was a story, we might have enjoyed it more. At the end of the day, it might currently be the most elaborate escape in that area.
