Escape Maze – Freakshow

Escape Maze is located in Peterborough Ontario on farmland.  During the Summer they hosted an Escape Maze Enthusiast Day, which had a flat rate where you could play ALL THEIR ROOMS in a single day (so how could we refuse).  In this first room we did it with a super team consisting of E4G and Team Freeing.

Long story short: You snuck into the Freak Show, now your only way out is to set up the room to find a way to escape.

Creativity and Design: Did it sell the story / theme?
Summary: Authentic and fun

+ Superb set design and props
+ creative and feels authentic for the theme, yet still keeping it fun
+ unique and thematic hint system

Bells and Whistles: Was it more than lockboxes?
Summary: Great use of mechanical tech that supports the room well.

+ great mechanical tech that supported the theme, set and puzzles
+ we didn’t experience any mechanical issues

Intuitive
:  Did you have to be inside the designer’s mind to solve it?
Summary:  Fun thematic puzzles, which enhance the immersion

+ Great thematic puzzles that fit the objectives of the room
+ The puzzles were straightforward and provided enough direction
+ the hint system passes notes to you thematically.

Staff Support/Price : Were they friendly? Were they helpful? What was the Damage?

The GMs were fantastic as always, probably some of the friendliest people we’ve come across in 3 years of escaping.

The price you can find on their website .

Overall: Fantastic room, which shows the progression of Escape Maze’s evolution.  If you are visiting the Escape Maze Family, make sure to try this room.
