Panic Factory – Worst Case Ontario

Panic Factory is located in Courtice Ontario, in a strip plaza on King St.  Its had been a while since our last visit, but we finally got to play Worst Case Ontario.  We went with the Divas to round out our team.

Long story short:  This room is based off the Trailer Park Boys (which we haven’t watched before) but the idea is you have keep ‘the operations’ going while finding their stash to get their lawyer to call off the cops.

Creativity and Design: Did it sell the story / theme?
Summary: Clever, thoughtful and unique.

+ The set design is unique and feels very trailer-park-like
+ Fun components all over the room that work well with the theme
+ Accessible story (to people who have not seen the show), maintaining humor through the room
+ a very polished room, no wear and tear, no hanging wires

Bells and Whistles: Was it more than lockboxes?
Summary: A perfect blend of tech

+ Great use of tech all around the room, everything is tightly integrated
+ good use of puzzle related tech, that felt in-line with the story/theme
+ We had no tech hiccups

Intuitive
:  Did you have to be inside the designer’s mind to solve it?
Summary:  Bottomline… a fun room

+ Straightforward with enough direction provided
+ A good assortment of puzzles
+ good integration of tasks built into the theme (no sudokus or crosswords)

Staff Support/Price : Were they friendly? Were they helpful? What was the Damage?

Full disclosure, we’ve worked with Rick and Nay (GM’s Nick and Ray) on Terminus.  On top of their superb building and tech skills, they’re great people that really know their stuff.

The price you can find on their website.

Overall: Worse Case Ontario is the product of talented builders making something they really enjoy (which is an awesome game).  Whether you’re a fan of Trailer Park Boys or not, this is a great room by the Panic Factory Guys.  Don’t miss it.
